Welcome to St Carthage's Primary School

St Carthage’s Parish School, a Catholic systemic school of the Lismore Diocese, was established in 1886 by the Presentation Sisters (from Ireland) to cater for the needs of the Catholic children of Lismore. The Marist Brothers have been involved from 1911 – 1996. The school was originally built on the flood plains but in 1954 was moved to higher ground, the current school site. 
The school is part of the St Carthage’s Cathedral Parish, Father Jim Griffin is Parish Administrator and also School Chaplain, .
With an enrolment of 600, St Carthage’s School is one of the largest Primary Schools in the Lismore Diocese. The Principal is Mrs Janelle Heffernan.

2019 Term Dates -
Students in Year 1 -6 need to be available for an MAI assessment from
Wednesday 30th January & Thursday 31st January.

Students in Years 1 - 6 Commence on Friday 1st February

Kinder students need to be available for Best Start assessment from Wednesday 30th January until Tuesday 5th February. Kinder students will commence Wednesday 6th February.
Term 1 concludes Friday 12th April.
Term 2 commences Monday 29th April and concludes Friday 5th July.
Term 3 commences Monday 22nd July and concludes Friday 27th September.
Term 4 commences 14th October and concludes Wednesday 18th December (for students).
